1. Nigeria’s Remoto launches e-car service venture
Nigeria’s Remoto has launched its e-car service venture, connecting car owners with service workshops within the metropolis.
The startup seeks to provide individuals and fleet owners access to certified service workshops via its online platform.
It was gathered that the startup was founded in 2021, and has grown to establish Remoto three products.
Remoto’s users can now choose to sign up for its car repair insurance, uptake an annual maintenance contract, or enter into on-demand repairs.
Speaking on the development, Richards Ijebor, Remoto’s chief executive officer (CEO), lamented the need for the service as premium car service is expensive.
“The cost of accessing premium vehicle maintenance services in a standard workshop is very expensive and beyond the reach of most vehicle users, who are left with no choice but to use cheap technicians who most of the time make use of counterfeit spare parts,” he said.
“Also, businesses spend twice as much as individuals to maintain their vehicles. This is a problem Remoto car repair insurance and annual maintenance plan will solve,” the CEO added.

Trivia Answer: InterNIC
Stands for “Internet Network Information Center.” The InterNIC is an organization created by the National Science Foundation to provide Internet information and domain name registration services. While the InterNIC was started as a joint effort between Network Solutions and AT&T, it is now run by the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
While the InterNIC still monitors domain names and provides WHOIS data, the domain name registration process has been relinquished to commercial domain registrars. Public information regarding domain names, registrars, and other Internet-related data can be accessed at the InterNIC website.
