Last Buy of 2021; First Buy of 2022

At the beginning of 2021, I shared my last purchase of 2020 (TimeoutProject.com) and first purchase of 2021 (LazyBastard.com). Neither of these domain names sold last year, but I’m still content with the purchases and the prices I paid. I am going to share the same thing this morning.

The last purchase I made in 2021 was NGFD.com in a NameJet auction. I like 4 letter acronym .com domain names, and the price was fair on this name. I priced it at $7,588 on Dan.com and will allow people to make reasonable offers or purchase it with a payment plan.

My first purchase of 2022 was CertifiedSupply.com. I bought this domain name for the minimum bid at GoDaddy Auctions. Once this domain name is provisioned to my GoDaddy account in a few days, I will likely price it at $1,999 at Afternic and $1,888 at Dan.com.

In total, it looks like I purchased more than 300 domain names in the aftermarket in 2021. I bought domain names via auction (DropCatch.com, GoDaddy Auctions, NameJet, and a Hilco Streambank bankruptcy auction) and I also bought domain names privately over email, via Dan.com, and via . I spent well into the six figures on acquisitions. I think my 3 favorite acquisitions of 2021 were Haymaker.com, MLR.com, and Persistence.com.
