A Virginia federal court ordered the transfer of two domain names using Debevoise & Plimpton LLP’s trademarks to the law firm, saying Debevoise will likely succeed in its lawsuit.
The domain name registry service Versign Inc. was directed to register the websites “debevoise-law.com” and “debevoise-laws.com” in Debevoise’s name, according to a court order from U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The law firm satisfied the requirements for the court to grant a preliminary injunction, O’Grady wrote.
