A post on NamePros earlier today is discussing what appears to be the sale of Meta.UK to Facebook now known as Meta, to me, what is more, interesting is that they haven’t secured yet Meta.co.uk which is the more commonly used cctld here in the United Kingdom.
Meta.co.uk is a Yorkshire Based Digital Agency focusing upon Shopify according to their website… I wonder how long till they rebrand, should an offer be too big to walk away…?

It has been reported that the domain meta.uk has changed hands (Changed from tag GOOSEBERRY to LOVELLSLLP). Hogan Lovells work on behalf of Facebook to acquire domain names, including bulletin.com in the not-so-distant past and many ‘meta’ domains.
The domain was owned by the prolific investor in the .UK domain space Michael Toth. He confirmed as much online but is keeping his cards close to his chest by the looks of things:
Meta.uk was registered on 04-Jul-2014 and was previously showing a landing page indicating that the domain was for sale before Facebook announced it’s parent company name change to META. Meta.co.uk, however, still seems to be an active business that describes itself as a “Shopify performance agency”.
It remains to be seen whether Facebook will acquire the .CO.UK and make a full set.
