I’m running MacOS Big Sur on a 2017 iMac, Retina 5K, 27″, 4.2 GHz Quad=Core Intel Core I7, 16GB 2400MHz DDR4, 1TB SSD.
Several days ago (~5-6 days) I disconnected removed three mail accounts with Verizon.net domain names and then reconnected them to solve a different problem. That all went well. I didn’t have it delete records.
But now I’m getting system messages from Messages when doing a search in Messages saying “More results will be shown once Messages finishes indexing.
[INTERNAL] Reason: No Recorded Reason. Indexed 3000 / 26986 records. Version 13. Last Reindex Completion Date 2020-07-15:40:25 +0000″which wa a couple of hours ago. I have let it run overnight with The messages search open, but with no luck.
I’ve seen it say it’s done 6000 records but now it’s back to 3000 records.

How long should it take to reindex?
Is this part of Siri indexing?
Is it somehow combining Messages and Mail indexing? I have quite a few old Mail messages
Is the index taking place on my machine or up in the cloud?
Any suggestions on how to get it to run to completion in a resonable about of time.
